【ReLIFE】 Romance x Slice of Life Over 20 million digital downloads!! The story of how a man changes his life for the better when given a second chance!!

ReLIFE is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Yayoiso. This manga was originally made in webtoon format.

This manga series was digitally released by NHN Japan on the Comico website from October 2013 to March 2018, after which 15 volumes were published by Earth Star Entertainment. As of February 2016, the series had sold over 1 million copies and had over 20 million digital downloads. It also won the 2017 Mangawa Award.

An anime television series adapted by TMS Entertainment was released in July 2016, consisting of 13 episodes.

The story begins with the main character, Arata Kaizaki, in a job interview. The employers seem impressed by his resume at first, as they remark that Arata seems like a hard working person.

But things begin to slip when the employers ask why Arata left his first job after only three months. Arata hesitates at first, then tries to cover it up by saying that the job wasn’t making use of his expertise.

Elsewhere, a report shows up stating that the preparations are complete to contact Arata Kaizaki for the ReLIFE experiment.

As Arata lays on his bed, depressing about the failed Interview, he realizes how much his life is different from the one he wished for as a teenager.

He receives a call from his mother, who is very eager to know the Interview results. Arata gives her the bad news which upon hearing she is very disappointed.

Things get even bad for Arata when his mother gives him the bad news that his father won’t be able to support him financially from next year.

Arata is very surprised and confused by this, and asks her why she is doing this, to which she replies “ it’s weird for parents to be supporting a 27 year old Grown ass man”.

She further tells him that since he has no goal or dream in his life, maybe it’s better for him to come back home.

She then hangs up the call, as Arata keeps looking at his phone with a muddled expression on his face.
