What's the story?

The story begins with Ban and Ginji introducing themselves as the ‘GetBackers’ to a traffic school employee. They claim to be able to retrieve anything with a 100% success rate, but the clerk isn’t interested in hearing them out and instead issues them a traffic ticket.
After that, we witness the two of them attempting to hit on two different girls. Ban slowly smooth talks the women into going out with them, but then he asks them to buy him lunch, causing them to punch him in the face. Sitting in the street, Ginji claims that they must find jobs immediately or they will starve, but Ban declines as it would be against their pride as GetBackers.
They attempt calling places that might hire them out of desperation, but they're turned down by every one of them. Ginji begins to choke Ban, claiming that the only reason they lost their money is because Ban was too cheap to pay the parking costs and their car got towed.
They try to buy some juice with their last 110 yen, but they are 10 yen short. A young boy stands nearby observing them, he offers to pay them the ten yen they require if they retrieve his game. The duo accepts his offer and confronts the boy who stole their client's game. The women and older men present near, start calling them scum for bullying a little kid.
While they're attempting to extort the game from the kid, his father arrives and assaults Ban and Ginji. They are severely battered, but are able to retrieve the game and deliver it to the boy in exchange for their ten yen payment.
They head to the vending machine and press the button, but what comes out is just a plain water bottle. They notice that the youngster had already pressed the water button as he flees, calling them stupid. They try to chase after him, but get buried under the bottles of water after Ginji angrily shakes the vending machine.
Ban and Ginji begin to hallucinate as a result of their hunger. A homeless man offers them food just as they're ready to pass out. The old guy takes them to his cabin, where they devour every thing he offers. The candle is about to burn out, so the old man starts looking for a new, one. But Genji stops the old man, as he goes searching in the garbage area.
Genji finds an old fluorescent tube light, but the old man informs them that he doesn’t have any electricity. Genji grips the light's ends and using his unique ability, lights it up. The old guy is astonished, and the two announce themselves as the GetBackers, a team that can recover any item that has been stolen.
Ban claims that, like electric eels, Genji's body's electricity-producing cells are more active than normal. Ban explains that his talent is The Evil Eye, but the elderly man collapses before he can explain it, claiming that he was merely tired.
The elderly man claims to have once owned a factory and worked hard. However, because to the downturn in the economy, he fell bankrupt and had to borrow money from the Yakuza. They took his daughter when he couldn't pay them back. He demands that the duo retrieve his daughter and that he will go to any lengths to repay them.
The old guy offers them whatever money he has, but Ban declines, claiming that it is insufficient. Ginji tries to persuade him, but he refuses, claiming that fighting the Yakuza for pocket change isn't worth it. The elderly gentleman requests that they forget about it and pardon him for his selfishness.
Ginji gets up in the middle of the night, while the old man is asleep. He persuades Ban into joining him, arguing that since the old man fed them when they were about to pass out, they might as well help him.
They dash through the city till they reach the site where the old man’s daughter is being detained. They charge inside the fortified home, claiming to be the unstoppable duo who will reclaim what has been stolen!
What will they find in this heavily guarded Yakuza mansion? What Adventures await this dynamic duo?
