To Love Ru is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Kentaro Yabuki.

The series was serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shounen Jump magazine from April 2006 to August 2009. It’s chapters are compiled and collected into 18 separate volumes. The manga’s continuation To Love Ru Darkness was serialized in Shueisha’s Jump Square magazine from October 2010 to March 2017.

An anime television series adapted by Xebec Studio was released in 2008, consisting of 26 episodes.

The story starts off with Yuuki Rito, looking at his crush, Sairenji Haruna, when his friend arrives and accuses him of stalking.

After school, Rito is waiting for her at the gates, ready to confess his feelings, but as soon as he sees her, he gets cold feet and hides in the bushes.

Back at home, his friend tells him to first practice talking to girls before proposing, as he has never been around women much. He then heads of to take a bath.

As he is relaxing in the bathtub, Suddenly, the water starts bubbling and a naked women with pink hair emerges from the water. Rito sees her naked body and freaks out while giving out a loud scream. His sister hurries to his room where he tells her that he just saw a naked girl in his tub. She goes in to check but finds no one. She then smiles and him and tells him that he should know the difference between real and fantasy.

He puts on some clothes, and while he is wondering weather the naked girl was real or not, he enters his room and finds the girl sitting on his bed, wrapped in a towel. He again freaks out, asking her who she is. She then Introduces herself as Lala, and reveals that she is an alien, who was running away from the people trying to kidnap her. With the help of her gadget, she warped to earth and ended up in his bathtub.

He blushes.

A robot enters the room and she introduces him as Peke. She throws away her towel, and Peke transforms Into an outfit, with Rito getting stimulated in the process.

Suddenly, two men wearing black tuxedo’s, break into the room and grab Lala. Rito is confused as to what is happening, but kicks a soccer ball at the man, causing him to lose his grip, takes her hand and runs out the window.

Haruna is walking her dog, when she spots Rito running on the roofs.

The two men catch up and throw a truck at them, blocking their way. They reveal that Lala has run away from home and they are only here to bring her back. Lala declines to go back, as his father was forcing her to marry someone.

Before the men get any closer, Lala summons a giant vacuum, which sucks them both up, but goes out of control, and ends up exploding.

The next day, as Rito is heading to school, thinking about the previous night, he comes across Haruno, who greets her. Rito realizes that he won’t get another chance and decides to confess right there.

In a state of nervousness, he closes his eyes and speaks his Confession, However, Lala drops in at the last second, with the confession getting directed to her. She responds by saying that she feels the same way and that they should get married.

What new twist is this story going to take? Who will Rito end up with?
