【Dr. Stone】Fiction x Post-apocalyptic 10 million copies in circulation!! Winner of 64th Shogakukan manga award!!

Dr. Stone is a Japanese manga series written by Riichiro Inagaki and illustrated by Boichi.

It has been serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Shounen Jump since March 2017, with its chapters collected in 22 separate volumes. The series has over 10 million copies in circulation, worldwide. Dr. Stone won the 64th Shogakukan Manga Award for the Shounen category.

Two anime seasons have been released, and a third season has been announced.

The story starts with Taiju telling Senku, the protagonist, that he is going to Confess his feelings to Yuzuriha, the girl Taiju loves.

Senku doesn’t show intrest but he knows that Taiju can pull it of and is even willing to bet on it.

Taiju calls Yuzuriha to meet him under a camphor tree behind the school.

Yuzuriha arrives at the camphor tree, Taiju sees her, he is both scared and excited.

Just as he begins to confess his love, a big splash of light emerges in the sky.

Taiju tells her to grab onto the camphor tree and tries to get between the bright light and her.

As the light gets near him, his body starts to turn into stone.

Apparently, this phenomenon is happening all over the world, turning everyone into stone statues.

Senku and the others are turned to stone but are still conscious. Their consciousness starts fading away but Senku keeps himself awake by counting.

Taiju on the other hand, keeps himself awake by thinking about Yuzuriha and how he can’t let things end with her like this.

Thousands of years later, Taiju finally breaks free from the statue. He Instantly starts looking for the camphor tree, where Yuzuriha might be.

He finds Yuzuriha and starts crying with joy when he sees her in one piece.

As Taiju promises to save Yuzuriha, he sees some carvings on the tree saying “Follow the river, you big oaf! “.

He starts running along the river and that is when he sees Senku.

After a heart felt moment, Senku explains that they were asleep for almost 3,700 years.

Senku takes Taiju to the tree house he built.

Senku then says that he is going to bring back all humanity and restore science to its former glory.

Will Senku and Taiju be able to un-petrify the entire human race and rebuilt it with the help of science?
