【Sleepy Princess in the Demon Castle】Fantasy Comedy x Slice of Life Adventures of a sleepy princess in the Demon Kings Castle!!

Sleepy Princess in the Demon Castle is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Kagiji Kumanomata.

The series has been serialized in Shogakukan’s weekly Shounen Sunday magazine since 2016, with its individual chapters collected in 19 separate volumes.

An anime television series, adapted by Doga Koba, was released in 2020, consisting of 12 episodes. A second season is yet to be announced.

The story begins with the Demon king, Twilight, breaking the peace pact made with the humans and invading their kingdom. He takes the princess and leaves with her, saying “Humans! I have taken your precious princess! If you want her back, then give me the world in exchange”.

The humans love their princess, and the hero, Dawner, promises to rescue the princess from the evil clutches of the Demon king.

In the meantime, the princess wakes up in the Demon Castle, realizing that she has nothing else to do but sleep all day. She lays down on her bed, but can’t seem to fall asleep.

She believes that the reason she can’t fall asleep, is because the pillow isn’t soft enough.

The teddy demon’s come in Bringing her food, she believes that their fur would make the pillow soft and walks toward them with a knife in her hand and a scary look on her face.

The teddy demon’s fearing for their life, start crying. She then realizes that combing the teddy demon’s would be a better way to get some fur. The little demon’s love the brushing and ask for more, but she demands the key to her cage in exchange.

She starts strolling around the castle, looking for the necessary materials to make a soft pillow. She takes some quills from a porcupine demon, tears off some cloth from a curtain, and tricks the armory guard into giving her some herbs.

Upon acquiring all the necessary items, she returns to her cage and starts knitting a soft pillow. After completion, as soon as she puts her head on the pillow, her eyes start to get heavy and she falls asleep Instantly.

Meanwhile, the Demon king finds out about the princess’s escape and rushes to her cage, but finds her sleeping peacefully. Thinking that he’ll confront her when she wakes up, the Demon king leaves.

Will the Hero be able to save the princess? Is the princess really in any danger?
