“She professed herself the pupil of the wise man” is a Japanese light novel series. It began serialization as a web novel published on the user-generated novel publishing website, “Let’s Become a Novelist.”
It is written by Ryuusen Hirotsugu-Sensei. He began serialization in 2012 and the series began releasing in print in 2014. Its comicalized version was released since 2016 and has collected eight volumes in total. It has become a very popular series with 1.35 million copies sold. An anime television series adaptation will premiere in January 2022 as well.
Is this series the genre of ‘reincarnating to another world’?

The main protagonist, Sakimori Kagami, is a normal boy who enjoys playing Arch Earth Online, which is not that popular in general. In the game, though, he is quite a famous player that he was even involved with the foundation event of the kingdom. He is an avatar looking like an old wizard with dignity. He is a wise man who can lead the brave but......

Moreover, he finds himself looking like a beautiful girl, instead of the old wise man!!
That appearance reminds him of something......
Yes, it’s an avatar of a beautiful girl, which he was creating (half just for fun and the other half seriously) on the previous night! He had loved the old wise man as his avatar but he had also wanted to create a different one for a change...... That’s why he was making a 100% opposite avatar, when he fell asleep, he recalls.
And when he wakes up...... Kagami finds himself in Arch Earth Online’s world!

Is this world really Arch Earth Online’s world, which he has played for four years......? Kagami asks NPC there if they know an old wise man avatar, Dunbalf. Dunbalf is actually quite a famous player in Arch Earth Online. He even was involved with a foundation event so many NPC must know him.
As he expected, all the NPC around him say they know Dunbalf.
They say that the wise man, Dunbalf, is an excellent user of summoning and the hero who played an active role 30 years ago......
Kagami is surprised at the fact saying he played an active role 30 years ago!!!?? He admits that he has played this game for four years but not 30 years......
What is going on with myself in a real world?

It looks like this beautiful girl’s avatar has taken over all the skills and status that Dunbalf has held, which was trained for the whole four years! But if he uses them, everybody might be skeptical, thinking ‘that girl must be Dunbalf......?,’ which might bring Dunbalf (as a wise man)’s image go down! (Or they might think Dunbalf has a strange habit of transforming a beautiful girl too......) So Kagami gives this girl a name ‘Mira’ and decides to work as Dunbalf’s apprentice!!
I hope he will be back to a normal life...... Mira-Chan is cute......
