Yes, it is! We introduced this manga in the recommended manga article before, but we will re-check the story again today!

Here is the story of Raise wa Tanin ga Ii!

The main character, Somei Yoshino, is a daughter of the leader of Somei gumi, the largest Yakuza family group in the western part of Japan. The story begins with Yoshino coming up to her yakuza leader/grandfather about an article she found in the tabloids. The article said that her grandfather’s yakuza group and Miyama gumi, the largest yakuza family group in the Eastern part of Japan are going to merge and cooperate.
Yoshino did not care about the main point, but another part in the article was very questionable to her. It said, “the heir and the heiress of both organizations, the grandchildren, are in a romantic relationship and they will be married very soon.” Yoshino had no idea where it came from.
Yoshino got upset and accused her grandfather. He revealed that he was the one who suggested to the leader of Miyama family to have their grandchildren engaged. He thought that his 17-year-old, only granddaughter would be sad without any boyfriend since everyone was terrified of her (family business). He also thought that the grandson of the Miyama family seemed very nice and told Yoshino to try dating him.
Eventually, grandfather persuaded Yoshino to meet with the grandson of the Miyama family. Yoshino was heading to Tokyo to greet the Miyama family. Yoshino thought it would be rude to decline the engagement without meeting the person. Also, in order to keep the relationship beetween the two families good, visiting the Miyama family was necessary. After Yoshino met with the leader of the Miyama family, she asked about his grandson, Miyama Kirishima who was supposed to be engaged to her.
“He is just behind of you!”
Her possible fiancé, Kirishima, pretended to be a bodyguard for Yoshino while traveling and was trying to observe her whole time.
A surprised Yoshino was greeted by Kirishima as her fiance. He told her that he could not help going to see her at the station and asked her forgiveness for the silly disguise.
Yoshino felt that Kirishima was a very nice person with a good smile. As she is most likely going to decline this engagement, she felt sorry for him.
Even though he understood her intentions, he still told her that he was simply happy that she came to see him. Also, he told her it was okay to decline this engagement.
However, Yoshino felt something strange in his words.
This is the outline of the first episode.
It is a little uneasy start, but it still looks like a normal romantic story, doesn’t it? What is going to happen next?
In a few months, Yoshino got to know about the real Kirishima. He was an extremely cruel, awful, and cold person who loves to destroy things and to put himself in danger.
The engagement was pending. Highschool student, Yoshino, started going to a high school in the Tokyo area while she stayed with the Miyama family. She couldn’t make friends at the new school and was alone. Looking at Yoshino, Kirishima was disappointed as she was just a normal girl. She does not act like a granddaughter from the largest Yakuza family in the West.
“It looks like your only redeeming quality is your face and body. Why don’t you sell yourself to make some money?”
Scary!!
Yoshino was abused verbally as useless. She was also looked down and even threatened. She started feeling that going home to the West would be admitting she lost. Yoshino decided to take action......
“I sold my body. I made 4 million yen by selling one of my kidneys.”
Yoshino started showing her resistance against Kirishima’s harassment. She also declared her intention to destroy his life completely.
OMG!! Scary......!!
This attitude appeared from the real Yoshino as she grew up in a Yakuza family. She does not show mercy to her enemy. Seeing this from Yoshino, Kirishima said something really crazy.
“I love you. Let’s get married for sure! You can mess me up!”
Yoshino is the one...... she is my ideal woman. He noticed that “she is the best woman who could destroy his life completely” and proposed to her.
This is the worst proposal ever to say YES to......
Haha! This manga is categorized as a “romantic comedy.” If you are interested in how these two’s lives go, please check out this manga. The episodes were collected into five volumes of tankobon!
