What? Why are we talking about this proverb? ……Actually, the manga series, which we’ll be featuring today, is related with the cornered mouse (Kyuuso) too!

What Is Kyuuso wa Cheese no Yume wo Miru?

It’s a short story manga, serialized in the comic magazine for women called “NIGHT Judy” in February 2006.
It was made into a drama CD in 2008 and also a live-action movie in 2020.
The manga artist, Mizushiro Setona, has also created the series, “Shitsuren Chocolatier（失恋ショコラティエ）.” She is so popular and well-known that not only the BL series but various genres of manga series have been created by her.

In Japan, Shitsuren Chocolatier was made into drama first. It went viral with the fact that she has newly produced the live-action movie adaptation!

Outline of Kyuuso wa Cheese no Yume wo Miru!

One day, the office worker, Ootomo Kyouichi, sees Imagase Wataru, who was junior to him at college, again after seven years. But in fact, Kyouichi is threatened by Wataru.
Actually, Kyouichi has a super indecisive character that he hasn’t been able to turn down the women who keep flirting with him, although he is married. Due to such a character, he cheated on his wife two years ago.
And surprisingly, Kyouichi finds out that his wife has hired Wataru, who is the private detective to investigate his infidelity.
Wataru actually had found the evidence of his affair two years ago.
Wataru confesses that the investigation has already been completed and calls for him, saying “I want to see Senpai after seven years.”
Wataru proposes a deal, saying “If you kiss me, then I will hush up your affair.” Kyouichi, then is surprised that he (the old college mate, junior to him) has had a crush on him.
Kyouichi knows that his wife will never forgive him if she finds out the fact. Wataru proposes again, saying “We can just kiss me, if you don’t want to have a sex with me.”
Knowing that’s a bad deal, Kyouichi ends up accepting it.
He is nervous, believing that it will be just the one-night stand……
Wataru quietly kisses back of Kyouichi’s hand.
Wataru again confesses to Kyouichi that he has been in love with Kyouichi for seven years. Wataru has been thinking that he will end up keeping hiding his love towards Kyouichi until he graduates, instead of confessing his love to him.
Then they had a farewell with the last kiss.
“I did it just as part of my job to protect my family……” He believes in himself. However, he is not able to sleep that night. And then their relationship, which was supposed to end with the one-night stand, is……
Yes, a few days later, Kyouichi is called for by Wataru again.
But this time, Wataru calls for him because Wataru finds out another affair by Kyouichi, happened four years ago……
Kyouichi, then accepts Wataru’s deal again.
What is the second “deal” that Wataru has made for Kyouichi……!?
This is how these two have started to have a relationship…… What’s gonna happen to them now, and what destiny will they have……?
Since it’s a short series with only one volume, why don’t you try it? It’s one of the most featured series in 2020!
