【Violence × Sexy】 A boy whose family was murdered sold his soul not to a demon...... but to a succubus!? Succubus & Hitman!

2025-04-07
“Succubus & Hitman” is a unique demonic gun-action series themed around “revenge” and “contracts with demons.”A man who was supposed to be dead inhabits another person’s body and returns to the living world as a messenger of hell—his sole objective: to beat down the four who murdered his family.
The story begins with a shocking scene in which the protagonist, “I,” is brutally murdered along with his family. However, he is resurrected by borrowing the body of a high school student, Gamou Shouya. Behind this stands Armelina, a third-rank demon who serves the goddess of vengeance. Through a pact with her, “I” begins operating in the shadows as an agent who reaps souls.
Just this setup alone is enough to get your adrenaline pumping. Moreover, despite the title including “Succubus,” violence and action take center stage over sex appeal, strongly appealing to fans of hard-boiled stories.
This is the latest work from the writer-artist duo behind the anime-adapted “Magical Girl Special Ops Asuka.” Compared to Asuka, this work features a more realistic action style with minimal use of “magic.”
While magic is present, it's limited to functions like supplying firearms or healing injuries. The focus remains squarely on firepower and tactics. The dual-wielding gun action reminiscent of John Woo films, cinematic direction, and the pacing of gunfights—all are meticulously depicted, making it irresistible for action fans.
In particular, the scene where a new character who wields a shotgun silently reloads feels just like a movie. No dialogue needed—he speaks through action. This is the true aesthetic of a “man”!
Although the title includes “Succubus,” erotic elements are kept to a minimum (at least in volume 1). The heroine, Armelina, comes across more as a cool and ruthless “demon” than a lustful succubus.
Even so, it retains a vivid rawness and allure, maintaining its depth as a mature dark fantasy. Rather than sexiness, the reader is drawn into a dark world steeped in madness and the scent of death.
The splatter expressions are quite intense, so honestly, it’s not recommended for those who are sensitive to blood and violence. However, it’s precisely this violent portrayal that gives the work its intensity.
A single bullet propels the story, and blood splatter speaks of the characters’ pasts and resolve—this kind of direction is the essence of the work. It’ll be a direct hit for fans of series like “Black Lagoon” or “Murciélago.”
With the story setup and world-building well established in volume 1, it feels like the real revenge drama is about to begin. With no doubt that the bloodshed-heavy developments will continue, it's time to brace your gore tolerance and love for action as we await the next volume.
The pacing is excellent, and it’s highly satisfying to read. The future development of the characters and Armelina’s true intentions are intriguing, and above all, we want to see how “my” revenge ultimately concludes—this is something we must follow to the end.
“Succubus & Hitman” is neither an “isekai reincarnation” story nor a “romantic comedy”—it’s a unique work that directly tackles themes of “revenge” and “evil.” Demons, guns, and soul bargains—if you’re into that, you’re bound to get hooked.
