Yes! The brand new series “Burn the Witch” by Kubo Tite-Sensei, who is also a creator of THAT “BLEACH”, is now appearing in Weekly Shonen Jump, released on Aug 24th, for four consecutive issues, starting from No.38!
It was first published in Weekly Shonen Jump (No.33) as a one-shot chapter in July 14th, 2018 and it went viral. And again, a super short serialized version is being published in the same magazine since this year.
An anime film is set to premiere throughout the world in October 2020 too but………………
For this title, not just an anime but I also want you to read its Manga!!!!!!
So! Before sharing some featured points about my recommended Manga “Burn the Witch” with you…… Let me give you a quick outline along with its worldview!

A Quick Outline of
Burn the Witch

The story is set in London in the modern world.
From the distant past, 72% of the cause of death in London, have been thought to be related with the existence of the heteromorphic creature called “Dragon”. The Dragons have been threatening to humans. To protect themselves, people need to manage them.
However, all the citizens in London, called Front London, are not able to see the Dragons. Those who are capable of seeing them are the people who live in the alternate world, called Reverse London, which is located in the other side of London, which automatically requires them to protect and manage the Dragons.
Even though everybody living in Reverse London is able to see the Dragons, there is a definite rule set when it comes to getting involved with the Dragons. It’s that “the citizen can never touch the ‘Dragons’.” However, the qualified people called “Witch” and “Wizard”, who belong to the Dragon Management Office, “Wing Bind”, who also have passed the exam, can directly touch the dragons.
If anybody breaks this rule, they will be in prison for 100 years or be executed.
If those, who are not qualified, actually touch the Dragon, a special component that the Dragon secretes will gradually be stored in their bodies and they will be in the condition called the “Dragon Possessed”.
The “Dragon Possessed” is a disease that the people, who have touched the Dragon in the long period, will be affected with. The main symptom is “having a body constitution, where they strongly attract the ‘Dragons’”.
The rule mentioned above was set to protect both the Dragons and the citizens of Reverse London!
The main protagonists of the story, Niihashi Noel and Ninny Spancole are the Witches, who belong to the Department of the Wind Bind, called Pipers Flute Squad, where they get the fiber, mineral and medicine from the Dragons, called Bipers.

Ninny Spancole

Both Noel and Ninny work hard as a Witch. Noel especially works to get paid, while Ninny wants to play an active role in the Department called Sabers Tactical Squad, where they ruin the Dragons who harm people.
In the one-shot version, you can see the story about a student who is Noel’s senior and a citizen of Front London, named Balgo, and his dog, Osushi chan and Balgo’s childhood friend, Selby, Neol, Ninny and Dragons. And in the serialized version, you can see a new story that continues from the one-shot version.

I can’t help but get excited about this worldview itself! Personally, the best parts about this title are……
  • “BLEACH”, and the worldview that connects to the reality
  • Concluded with ONLY Five Episodes and Easy to Enjoy ONLY One Anime Film
Alright, then I’ll explain more about these points!

“BLEACH”, and the worldview that connects to the reality

As for Kubo-Sensei’s previous work, “BLEACH”, the story was developed in the two adjacent worlds; a Japan’s present city, Karakura Chou and a posthumous world, Soul Society.
As for this title, “Burn the Witch”, the story was also set in the two different worlds; Front London and Reverse London, with a focus on the heteromorphic creature, “Dragon” with each character being involved.
We have dreamed about the alternate world in all ages, such as heaven or hell, which is likely to exist nearby our world.
Despite that both “BLEACH” and “Burn the Witch” depict the alternate world fantasy, those worlds are immersed in our every day life.
That’s why we tend to be absorbed in such a worldview easily……!
And best of all is the town called Reverse London. Actually, it’s deeply related with Soul Society, which will be revealed in the end of the one-shot version but……
Well, maybe you can go take a look here!!!

Concluded with ONLY Five Episodes and Easy to Enjoy ONLY One Anime Film

I bet many of you have worried if you can catch up with the whole episodes when you try to start reading a serialized series, published in a weekly magazine……
Well, you don’t have to worry about it when you start reading this title!!!!!
As I mentioned above, this title started to be serialized as episode zero of a one-shot chapter “Burn the Witch” in Weekly Shonen Jump only for four weeks, starting from No.38 in 2020.
As for an anime film, which is scheduled to release in October, it will be a half-length anime, not the full-length one.
That’s why!!!!!! It’s really!!!!!! Easy to get addicted to it!!!!!!
They will publish the individual manga books in October 2nd! However the only way you can read manga with beautiful color illustrations is through Weekly Shonen Jump.
But! Don’t worry.
In Manga Republic, we carry No.33 of Weekly Shonen Jump, issued in 2018, which contains the one-shot version and the ones (No.38, 39, 40 and 41), which contain the serialized version, issued in 2020 too!
Of course, You can reserve the individual manga book of “Burn the Witch” on Manga Republic!
Especially for No.38, issued in 2020, two protagonists from “Burn the Witch” are newly drawn in the cover by Kubo-Sensei! Kubo-Sensei’s fans! Don’t miss it out……!
