【Nue no Onmyouji】A dark fantasy depicting the bond between a modern-day youkai and an onmyoji!

“Nue no Onmyouji” is a story about Manabu Yajima, a high school student leading a normal life, who suddenly enters an extraordinary world. Manabu has had the unique ability to see phantom spirits, invisible to others, since he was a child. His life changes dramatically when he meets Nue, a phantom spirit in the form of a human woman. Nue, being sealed and unable to use her true powers, seeks Manabu's help in defeating other phantom spirits. However, Manabu, traumatized by the death of his father at the hands of a phantom spirit, initially refuses her proposal.

One day, when a powerful phantom spirit appears in the classroom and his classmate Zenno faces it risking his life, Manabu develops a desire to become stronger. In the process, he shields Zenno and gets fatally wounded but is saved by Nue's healing powers. Following this event, Manabu forms a pact with Nue and chooses the path of fighting alongside her against the phantom spirits.

Manabu's new life begins with his encounter with Shuou Nanasaki, a senior at his school and an onmyoji. They establish an Occult Club and collaborate to exorcise phantom spirits. This new daily life marks Manabu's first step into an unknown world.

The manga is a story of Manabu, a high school student, who fights phantom spirits with the help of Nue.
