Hello, everyone. Today, I'd like to talk about one of my favorites, Kahan No Machi No Celine. The story is set in 19th-century Paris, France, and depicts the adventures of a young girl exploring different professions.

The story revolves around a 14-year-old girl, Celine Francois, who comes to Paris from a neighboring village of Rouen. She doesn't express her emotions much and doesn't have a clear idea of what she wants to do. Her journey to Paris begins with her inheriting the words of her late teacher, “Experience many things.

Celine's life in Paris starts off with a failure as she gets fired from her job at a café on the first day. However, a chance encounter with an old gentleman changes her life. This gentleman, with his mobility limited, proposes a unique job to Celine. It is to experience various professions and “observe and report” her experiences to him. This marks the start of her job of “experiencing professions”.

Celine first tries her hand at sewing. Her first job is as a “seamstress”, a symbolic profession for girls in Paris at the time. This profession, which was often fantasized about by bourgeois youth during the Romantic era, allows Celine to observe and listen to the seamstresses' stories as she mends theater costumes. This becomes the first step in her adventure to “experience many things.

At first, Celine barely asserts herself and can't even say what she likes, but as the story progresses, she meets various people and gains experiences. Gradual changes begin to appear in her inner self.
