What’s the story?

The story begins by showing three men approaching the Ogame Dojo, which is located high in the mountains. Washitzu Naoyoshi and the Hyouga brothers are among the three men who have arrived in search of Kurogane Jinsuke, a renowned swordsman who is said to have slaughtered thousands of people.
As they approach the gates, a kid sitting among a graveyard of swords stops them. He claims that they will only be able to enter if they pass his test. The Hyouga brothers are furious with him for underestimating them, and Hyouga Kosaburou steps forward to fight the boy.
In the blink of an eye, the kid disarms Kosaburou and knocks him out. Without any reason, he invites the other two to come in, telling them that they passed the test. Inside, they are greeted by the daughter of the previous leader of the dojo, Senka.
They came there to battle Kurogane Jinsuke, Naoyoshi explains. The boy, Gama, informs them that Jinsuke has been missing for several years, upsetting Masato, who claims to have travelled so far for nothing, and he dismisses the dojo as useless.
Gama taunts Masato, saying that if he can defeat him, he will be given the dojo's symbol. Both of them prepare to combat by drawing their wooden swords. Gama attacks, but Masato grabs his hand, preventing him from moving. He then strikes Gama with his sword, sending him flying.
Masato follows up with a knee to Gama’s stomach, causing him to fall through the wooden wall. He declares Gama dead, claiming that a basic style will not allow him to prevail in a real battle. Gama, to his astonishment, stands up and taunts Masato that if he wants to kill him, he'll have to put more effort.
Senka informs Naoyoshi that he doesn't have to be concerned about Gama because he has defeated everyone who has come to the dojo since he was nine years old. She reveals that Gama is Jinsuke's son, and his main goal is to defeat his father, the strongest swordsman.
Assuming an unorthodox Ogame Style stance, Gama proclaims that he will kill Masato in three strokes. With a flash, Gama disarms Masato and smacks him in the ribs with the sword's handle, cracking them. He lunges for the third strike, but Naoyoshi steps in and blocks it, as Masato falls unconscious.
Gama's strength is praised by Naoyoshi, stating that he could easily bet his life on him. Oizumi Kamedenbou, the previous house leader, enters and chastises Gama for acting rashly. Naoyoshi presents Oizumi with a letter from his mother, stating that she was the one who introduced him to the Ogame style.
Naoyoshi presents himself as Washitzu Naosata, the Lord of Unabara's 28th son. He claims he was looking for a martial artist to compete in the Unabara Grand Competition, which will determine who will be the new Lord of Unabara. The successor will be whoever discovers the strongest martial artist.
Naoyoshi wants Gama to be his minion so that he might rise to the position of feudal lord. Gama accepts the offer, stating that he wishes to strengthen himself even further. Naoyoshi and Gama leave with different goals in mind, but they agree to collaborate for the sake of the competition.
What challenges await Gama on his road to become the strongest swordsman?
