It’s a bit sudden, but what kind of animal do you like?
I really like deep sea fish and deep sea creatures!
Some of them look weird......but I feel a sense of romance when I think of their evolution in order to live in the pitch-black darkness without any sunlight!!
In fact, deep sea creatures are very popular in Japan. Many aquariums have special exhibits for them!
Do you know what the most popular sea creature in Japan is? It is the Japanese pancake devilfish/flapjack octopus (Opisthoteuthis Depressa)!!

Today, I want to introduce manga that has a character like this Japanese pancake devilfish!! It is actually a god in the story (!?)

It was serialized in Weekly Shounen Jump since June 2020 until it completed in February 2022.
This unique comedy manga is a little bit weird, just like deep sea creatures! Here is the outline!!

The god of destruction, Mag Menuek, was invited from a different world by the Cult of Chaos.
The Cult of Chaos tries to use Menuek’s ability to control the world, but the plan was blocked by the Holy Knights and Mag Menuek was sealed in a crystal.

The days have passed. Something has happened somewhere in a rural area + seaside town.
Miyanagi Ruru who is a middle school sophomore found a really big gemstone while she was doing some shell gathering.

Ruru’s father passed away when she was still small. Her mother works far away from her. So, she is living alone quietly. When she found the gemstone, she thought she could be rich if she could sell it!
However, the gem is not just an ordinary gemstone!!
When she found a clack on the stone and tried to put together, she accidentally broke it apart. Then......
With a creaky sound, the god of destruction that was sealed in the gem was awoken!!

It looked like a small Japanese pancake devilfish with one big eyed and rabbit ears. Ruru thought it was disgusting and threw it to the ocean! However, Mag Menuek could not swim and started drowning! She ended up helping him from the ocean.
Ruru tried to bring the broken gemstone home, but Mag Menuek destroyed it completely!!
“Now it can’t be used to seal me inside......”
He said with opening his eye widely.
After this, Ruru slapped him strongly!!
“It was my chance to become rich!!!”
She got upset! Looking at Mag Menuek that is totally flattened by the impact of being hit.
“It wasn’t my intention to kill you!!”
She picked him up and brought him home.
Ruru put hot water in the bucket and put Mag Menuek in it. He woke up and told her to offer something to him because he is a “god.” So she named him as “Magu-chan” and gave him natto, fermented soybean.
Magu-chan loved natto so he told Ruru to make her dream comes true.
But he is the god of destruction, he can destroy things if she wishes.
She does not have anything that she wants him to destroy. So, she asked Magu-chan to do some chores around the house.
Mag-chan tried to vacuum the room, but he was accidentally vacuumed. He got surprised when the phone rang and ended up destroying the phone. He tried to dry clothes, but he was too small to do so.
Ruru and Magu-chan started living together. What is going to happen in their future?
Mag-chan has an ambition to regain faith toward him as a god by the people...... is it going to be achieved?
The comic books are released to volume 7. The popular new episode will be on Jump GIGA 2022 spring, that will be released on April 30th, 2022!
Volume 8, the sequel of the story, was released on March 4th, 2022. The last volume will be the 9th or 10th volume. So, it will be a good amount of reading all at once!
