Daily Lives of High School Boys is a Japanese slice-of-life franchise created by Yasunobu Yamauchi.

The manga is illustrated and written by Yasunobu Yamauchi, and its chapters are compiled and published into 7 separate volumes. As of December 2021, 7 volumes have been released. The manga series was serialized in Gangan Online.

An anime adaptation of the manga was also released in 2012, produced by Sunrise. A live action film adaptation, directed by Daigo Matsui, was released in 2013.

The story revolves around the daily lives of three High-School friends. Their names are Tadakuni, Hidenori and Yoshitake. All three of them go to Sanada North Boys High school. The story follows them and their various interactions with other students of and around their school and their coming of age endeavors.

We open up with a scene of the three boys sitting in a room. Yoshitake asks Hidenori a question. Hidenori dismisses him by saying that there’s no meaning to it. Tadakuni shouts at them to stop wasting time while they’re at other people’s homes.

Hidenori gets up to leave. While exiting he comes to a sudden halt and asks Yoshitake, what he think about skirts. Tadakuni shouts that this is why you don’t start the conversation.

Hidenori exclaims that it would be really uncomfortable as they would just coil around the edge of your waist and that there is no way he’d be walking around in those even if he’s wearing underwear under them.

Tadakuni counters by saying that they were made to be comfortable clothing during the middle ages. A heated argument takes place.

Hidenori asks Tadakuni if they could borrow his younger sister’s skirt. Before Tadakuni could finish saying no, Yoshitake goes and gets them, and on top of that also steals a pair of underwear while replacing his own underwear in exchange.

They argue about how they should be putting on the skirts. They each have their own way of putting it on and they call the other person wrong. They start arguing again about the correct way of wearing it. Tadakuni intervenes and says that they could wear it any way they like.

They each go to a separate place to put their skirts on. When they come out, only Tadakuni has worn the skirt. The other two have tricked him.

The two convince Tadakuni that he can make money out of this. They make him pose as a girl and tells him to have confidence in himself. They motivate Tadakuni and move on to put female undergarments on to Tadakuni. At this moment, his sister comes into the room and see’s them putting it on Tadakuni. This makes for an extremely awkward situation as the chapter ends.
