What is “Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic”?

Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic is a Japanese fantasy adventure manga series written and illustrated by Shinobu Ohtaka.
It was serialized by Shogakukan in the shōnen manga magazine Weekly Shōnen Sunday from June 2009 to October 2017, with its chapters collected and published into 37 tankōbon volumes.
In 2014, Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic received the 59th Shogakukan Manga Award for the shōnen category. As of April 2018, the manga had over 25 million copies in circulation.

What’s the story?

The manga shows a young child, wandering around a desert. As he walks tiredly, he comes across a gang of bandits and asks them for some food and water, instead the bandits try to take his belongings, but suddenly, two giant arms emerge out of nowhere and beat up the bandits.
We then see two girls, Sahsa and Laylah, selling fruits in a bazaar. They enter their wagon to check on their fruits, that is when they see the child eating their watermelons, he then introduces himself as Aladdin. As payment for the food, he now has to work 3 days for them for free.
As they walk through the bazaar, Aladdin decides to introduce them to his friend Ugo. Aladdin plays his flute and two giant arms emerge from it, scaring the hell out of the girls.
Later that night, Aladdin and Laylah talk and she tells Aladdin, how she passed out in the desert and Sahsa saved her, they have been best friends ever since.
The next day, as Sahsa and Laylah are about to leave with their entire caravan, two bandits come up and tell everyone that Laylah is actually a bandit and was just deceiving them, but they don’t know that Laylah never planned on betraying Sahsa, as she was her only friend.
Laylah tries to tell them that the route they are taking is surrounded by bandits, but the caravan does not believe her and leaves without her. As Laylah starts to cry, saying that, it is too late to help them, Aladdin takes her hand and tells her that, he’ll get them there in time.
Just as the bandits are about to attack Sahsa, Aladdin and Laylah arrive on Ugo’s giant body coming out of the flute. The leader of the bandits, recognizes the flute as a metal vessel that contains a DJINN. Ugo starts beating up the bandits, Laylah touches Ugo to thank him, but due to his shy personality, Ugo passes out.
As the battle comes to an end, Aladdin recalls the time when he made a wish to Ugo, to become his friend.
After the battle, Aladdin thanks Sahsa and Laylah, and goes on to continue his adventure.
