Houshin Engi（封神演義）is the Chinese literary classic. The story involves the Chinese mythology and history of China, along with monsters or hermits, full of fantasy element. This often is compared with other Chinese literary classics, “Sangokushi” or “Saiyuuki” but “this one contains more fantasy element and lacks majesty, but it’s one of the famous works that should be recorded in the Chinese literary history.”

The main character, Yamato Saki（大和さき）, was a normal high school girl.

Her mother loved the Chinese literary classic, Houshin Engi so there were various books which were related with Houshin Engi at home. They were just having a normal life.

Saki had one thing that bothered her.

That’s that she was incredibly powerful. Any boys, who got closer to her, just left her, making fun of her being too powerful. Therefore, she had never loved anyone before. Her mother said “Houshin Engi was my first love.” But she never understand that feeling as well.

One day, Saki found a scroll, saying “Houshin” in the warehouse at her house.

Saki thought it was her mother’s Houshin Engi and she broke open the “firmly locked seal” on the scroll with her power……!

And the next moment, she was in the water.

She thought she was having a dream but couldn’t even breathe! Almost drown, she grabbed the “fishing line without the fishing hook”, which was right in front of her……!!

Then a boy, called “Kyou Shiga”, was there in front of her.

Saki knew it. Kyou Shiga had another named called “Taikoubou”…… which was the main character of Houshin Engi!

Saki thought that it was just the dream but she actually felt pain and everything.

She realized that she was stuck in the Houshin Engi’s world after she opened the scroll……!

Saki consulted with Kyou Shiga, saying that she wanted to go back to where she was from. Even though Kyou Shiga saved her life and rent her clothes, he said he couldn’t help her with that one because he was about to start the “Houshin plan”, meaning…… a long Houshin Engi’s story.

Saki was turned down instantly.

Taikoubou, who Saki had been seeing in Houshin Engi, was the Hero who always helped those in need. And Kyou Shiga declared again.

I don’t think I can be “Taikoubou” because I love being lazy!

Oh well, he is a crap…… Saki thought so at that moment. While they were resting, a minister from the enemy’s royal palace came along.

“Look at you. You’re a human, wearing the hermit’s clothes, serving a sacred beast. You must be the “Taikoubou” who’s trying to destoy our kingdom……!”
