【BLEACH】20th anniversary! The dark fantasy battle action manga gets more and more exciting!

The story takes place in the present day in Japan.

A high school boy, Kurosaki Ichigo, lives in Karakura-chou with two younger sisters and their father who is a medical doctor. He can see ghosts, but he is just a normal boy with natural orange hair.

One day after school,

Ichigo was trying to dispel a spirit that haunted him. It was the spirit of a young girl who died in an accident. The girl’s spirit told Ichigo that there were bad boys always around the place where she died. Because of these boys she cannot enter into nirvana. Ichigo tried to dismiss the bad boys from the place so that the girl can rest in peace.

After dispelling the girl’s spirit, Ichigo went home. All of sudden, his father, Kurosaki Isshin, kicked him hard!! He seemed to be angry at Ichigo because he did not come home by their dinner time! Ichigo's younger sisters, Yuzu and Karin, know about Ichigo's spiritual ability, so they complained about Isshin's violent behavior toward Ichigo.

Still Isshin was angry at Ichigo. So he ended up leaving for his room.

Ichigo was talking to himself. Suddenly, a black swallowtail butterfly flew into his room.

He looked at the window.

His eyes caught a girl in black standing there.

Ichigo was very surprised to see the girl showing up all of sudden!

She introduced herself as a Soul Reaper, Kuchiki Rukia. She lives in a different world, Soul Society. She started talking about the reasons why she came to this present world.

There are two kinds of human souls. One is a good soul which is called Plus. It is sent to Soul Society. The other one is a bad/lost soul called Hollow that is dispelled by Soul Reapers in the present world because Hollow is a monster that always searches for a strong soul and attacks humans.

Ichigo told her that he does not want to get involved in such dangerous missions like she was pursuing. Rukia said that she was following a Hollow but she lost track of it because she felt something strong here.

When Rukia was thinking about what to do next, they both heard a scream.

Ichigo noticed that it was his sister, Yuzu’s voice!

Ichigo tried to go to her, but Rukia stopped him because Hollow is too dangerous for ordinary people. Rukia casted a spell on him so that he could not move. Rukia tried to come over to Yuzu instead. But, Karin, the other sister, told Ichigo that something she could not see attacked her suddenly. Then she passed out. Ichigo was angry and ashamed of himself for not being able to protect his sisters. He broke the spell casted by Rukia and jumped out in front of Hollow!!

Rukia was surprised to know that Ichigo broke her spell.

Now Rukia also realized that she couldn’t track Hollow when she went into Ichigo's room because Ichigo was special. He broke a spell by Soul Reaper that ordinary people can't. The Hollow must be attracted to Ichigo's strong soul.

Ichigo tried to protect Yuzu even though he has been attacked by Hollow. Rukia told Ichigo that Hollow is targeting him to obtain his strong soul.

Ichigo was stunned by the fact. Rukia was surprised to see his reaction. During their conversation, Rukia was attacked by Hollow and severely wounded.

The father, two sisters, and Rukia. Ichigo saw his family and Rukia were hurt by Hollow who is targeting Ichigo. He felt hopeless. But, Rukia asked.

The badly injured Rukia told Ichigo that he had to become a Soul Reaper if he wanted to protect his family from Hollow. She was saying to stab a sword into her chest and it will give half of her power into Ichigo. Ichigo agreed to become a Soul Reaper quickly. Ichigo became ready quickly, So Rukia stabbed the sword into her chest.

It was just half the power to give, but Ichigo's soul is strong and pulls all the power from Rukia into Ichigo.

Now Ichigo became a Soul Reaper and was going to confront the Hollow!!!
