It’s a Japanese manga series by Mogusu-Sensei. It has been serialized online via the illustration posting site called “Pixiv” from January 2015 to October. It’s been viewed over 3.5 million times in total. In 2016, a-long-awaited comics were released and the series has officially started to be serialized in the Web comic site called “comic POOL.” Over 1 million comics have been issued and an anime television series adaptation is set to premiere in April 2021 with 1-million copies total issued.

Amakusa Ryo is a high spec businessman, working at a prestigious company.

Though he is good-looking, smart and good with his hands, he is loose with women. That day, as usual, he feels sick after hanging out with a woman overnight, whose name he doesn’t even know on the previous day.

While walking inside of the train station, Ryo suddenly gets hit with a migraine. On top of that, he bumps into a person who seems to be in a hurry and is about to fall down to the stairs……

And a high school girl saves him.

She instantly hangs her umbrella’s handle to the collar of his shirt, saying “Sorry, it looks kind of violent, saving you……”

Ryo doesn’t seem to care about it but she still apoligizes to him. She even worries about him, looking sick.

He tells her that he hasn’t eaten anything all morning, then she hands her obento (lunch box) to him, saying “You can eat mine.” Then she leaves there, so she won’t be late for school. Looking at her back, leaving him, he is vaguely thinking that the uniform she’s wearing is the same as his sister……

Their reunion comes along too early.

When Ryo comes back home that day, his sister tells him that she has her friend over. And guess what? That friend is the one who has saved him that morning!

He finds out that her name is Ichika.

Ryo says that he wants to do something in return, wanting to give her something like a clothe or a watch, however, she politely refuses his offer, saying she didn’t save him because she wanted money. Hearing what she says, he goes:

If it’s too much, then how about going on a date?

I will do anything I can do. I want to do what you wish for. I’m sure it will be a good memory for you too, so what do you want me to do for you? Ryo asks Ichika again.

Ichika responds simply disgusted, insulting him without hesitation.

Then……

Ryo falls madly in love with Ichika.

He gets shocked at everything about Ichika; her spontaneous acting to save him, kindness to hand him her obento and above all, correctness, where she treats him coldly, denying his stupid and superficial words……!

Ichika is confused with Ryo’s way of approaching her because it’s too straight forward. However, every time she responds disgusted, insulting him without hesitation, somehow, she is attracted by him too.

Is this called “love”!?

How will this awkward relationship between Ryo and Ichika changed?
