Far from realizing her fate to become a saint, the only thing in her head is her dream of “wanting to become the best maid.” A girl holding the fate of the world in her hands completely bypasses her grand mission and charges down the path of a maid—this intense disconnect right from the start is the greatest charm of this work.

Melody learns at the guild that the Count Ruttleberg family is recruiting a maid, and comes to serve Luciana Ruttleberg, the count family's only daughter. However, she is no ordinary rookie maid. She possesses extraordinary power, enough to active as a saint under normal circumstances, and can even handle overwhelming magic, making her a so-called cheat-level existence. However, she herself has almost no awareness of this, and generously pours her valuable abilities not into combat or adventure, but into maid duties. Even jobs that are normally handled steadily, such as cleaning, cooking, laundry, and serving, reach an uncanny realm when handled by Melody. While you want to call out, “You're using that power there!?”, it is funny precisely because she herself is completely serious. With her figure attempting to purely be useful to her master without acting proud despite her overwhelming power, there is a strange sense of refreshing satisfaction and charm.

However, it doesn't mean that everything will be resolved if Melody works happily as a maid. This is originally the world of an otome game where the Demon King appears. In the game's scenario, the heroine is supposed to awaken as a saint and save the world while interacting with various people, but the person herself is putting all her effort into her maid work with full energy today as well. As a result, an unexpected situation for the game world occurs where “the saint does not appear.” How the world, gradually deviating from the original story, will change, and whether Melody will realize her true identity and power are major highlights. Precisely because the readers know Melody's secret, every time they see her unconscious actions, they want to shout, “No, you're the saint!” This gap in perception between the readers and the protagonist creates an exquisite sense of comedy in the story.

Personally, what I find particularly attractive in this work is the reason Melody uses her power, rather than her “strength.” Works with protagonists who possess overwhelming abilities are not uncommon, but in Melody's case, she doesn't want to gain fame by defeating someone, nor does she want to prove her own strength. She pours her passion into a single point: “I want to work as a fine maid.” Precisely because that purpose is so peaceful and pure, the more she uses extraordinary magic, the more it makes you laugh, and at the same time, makes you want to cheer for her. You can also feel her joy in serving Luciana and her pride in the job of a maid, and I liked how the setting of a “maid” is depicted not as mere costume or characterization, but as Melody's own way of life.

“Heroine? Seijo? Iie, All Works Maid desu (Hokori)!” is a work that packs royal road elements such as reincarnation, otome games, saints, and cheat abilities, while boldly overturning them with a single central axis: “she herself just wants to become the best maid.” The structure where she masters maid work with the power that is supposed to save the world, causing even the original scenario to start going awry because of it, does not easily let you predict future developments. Reading along while holding doubts where you don't know if it's grand or peaceful, like “The Demon King is appearing, is it really okay for the saint to be working as a maid?”, is also an enjoyable part. This is a manga I would recommend not only to people who like unaware, strongest-type protagonists, but also to people who want to casually enjoy Isekai fantasy or are looking for an unusual otome game reincarnation story. Above all, watching Melody do her best for the maid work in front of her rather than the fate of the world makes it strange how you start thinking, “Wouldn't it be fine if she stays the strongest maid instead of a saint?”
