That gap creates humor while making you naturally want to see how their relationship itself unfolds.

What personally drew me to this work is that instead of going in the direction of “the reincarnated former Demon King becomes overpowered,” it connects the amusement to Ryuusei living as a teacher in modern society. No matter how terrifying his background as a former Demon King might be, at school he has to manage his students and do his job as a teacher. The contrast with such reality is delightfully funny. And the Hero who defeated Ryuusei is now just an ordinary high school girl. There is a sense of going back and forth between the grand past life and the overly peaceful current life, and the more you learn about the fantasy setting, the more entertaining even the everyday scenes become. Combined with the fast-paced banter among quirky characters, it left a great impression as a lighthearted school comedy you can easily enjoy.

If you only look at the title, you might imagine an intense action manga, but the charm of “Hanaori-san wa Tensei shitemo Kenka ga Shitai” lies in the fact that two people bound by a destiny to fight end up reuniting in a “world where they don't have to fight.” A Demon King and a Hero are originally enemies. Even so, meeting face-to-face every day in a peaceful world and spending time together means they might not stay in the same relationship as in their past lives. Why is Meteor so eager to fight Ryuusei? And how will Ryuusei change through his reunion with her? Brawls, school life, teacher and student, and even hints of romance blend together lively, making this a work that naturally keeps you turning pages to see what happens next between the two.
