[Another World x Camping Car] The skill obtained through another world summoning is... summoning a camping car!? Suterare Seijo no Isekai Gohan Tabi: Kakure Skill de Camping Car wo Shoukan shimashita!

Summoned to another world, deemed useless, and banished—. Hearing this much, you might imagine a heavy story that starts from rock bottom. However, “Suterare Seijo no Isekai Gohan Tabi: Kakure Skill de Camping Car wo Shoukan shimashita” is a work that delightfully betrays those expectations. The protagonist is Takanashi Rin, a working adult in her late 20s, commonly known as Rin. Although she was dragged into a saint summoning along with a beautiful high school girl, she was treated as incompetent because her abilities did not clearly manifest, and she alone was thrown out into the grasslands of another world. Normally, this would be a situation where one would wonder, “How am I going to live from now on...”, but Rin is surprisingly resilient. That's because she had a shockingly convenient ability hidden within her for surviving in this world.
What Rin possessed were two skills: “Camping Vehicle (Motor House),” which allows her to summon a camping car in a special environment, and “Survival Strategy (Survival),” which helps her adapt to the surrounding environment while stabilizing her mental state. At first glance, they aren't suited for combat, but considering life in another world away from civilization, it's a tremendously reliable combination. What's more, Rin's hobbies are solo camping and cooking. As if saying, “Then why not just enjoy camping and cooking in another world too?”, she positively accepts her situation and sets off on her journey. Instead of being overpowered with swords or magic, she enjoys new lands using her camping car and outdoor experience as her weapons. This concept becomes the unique, lighthearted charm of this work.
After setting out, Rin rescues Vil, an adventure of the Kiryu (Ogre Dragon) race, who was drowning in a river. Then, with her cooking skills recognized as the catalyst, she ends up accompanying the adventurer party “Table of Gluttony” as a porter and cook. From here, the story changes from a solitary life in another world to a lively journey with companions. Cooking unknown ingredients found in various places, and sometimes even utilizing monsters as ingredients, the interesting part is how adventure and food are naturally connected. Investigating newly appeared dungeons while eating monsters, and meeting a dragon princess who stopped the salt supply in a volcanic town, it even creates a strange sense of anticipation, making you wonder, “What will be served on the dining table next?”
Just when you think it's a peaceful work about enjoying cooking and camping, the story gradually steps into a major mystery. Experiencing a series of abnormal situations during her travels, Rin begins to think that they might be related to her own summoning to another world. Furthermore, after obtaining information from Vil's older brother in the royal capital, it turns out that this world itself is the stage of an otome game. Moreover, due to the actions of the other saint who was summoned together with her, the possibility arises that her precious companions may be put in danger. Therefore, Rin takes action to prevent the events that were supposed to happen in the game and to stop the other saint from unfairly leveling up. You'll be drawn into the development where a story that was supposed to be a carefree food trip suddenly connects to the very mechanism of the world.
What feels particularly appealing about this work is that the banished protagonist doesn't just aim for revenge, but creates a place for herself by taking advantage of what she is good at. For Rin, cooking is not merely a means of living, but an important power that closes the distance with people and enriches the journey with her companions. Adding a camping car to the mix, an existence far too alien for another world, creates a travel flavor slightly different from classic fantasy. Because the curiosity about food—like “What should I make today?” or “Can this monster be eaten?”—and the mysteries surrounding the world and events stemming from the otome game progress simultaneously, another feature is that you can enjoy both heartwarming scenes and the fun of following the storyline.
Rin was discarded as useless, but changing one's perspective, the moment she was banished might have been the starting point for her to begin her own life. Riding in the convenient “Mo-chan,” cooking meals, meeting unique companions, and driving towards unknown lands. Relishing that air of freedom, even though it is an isekai work, you can feel a enjoyment akin to watching a road movie. Gourmet, camping, adventure, interacting with companions, and secrets hidden in the world. Enjoying various elements all at once, this is an isekai food journey that makes you think, “If I go to another world, I don't just want to survive, I want to fully enjoy it since I'm there,” making you feel hungry as you read.
