It’s a Japanese Physical Manga series, serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump. The genre is “Escaping Suspense ×Fantasy”. It’s a super popular title, issued over 18,000,000 books in total as off February, 2020.

It’s a story happened in the orphanage. Emma, Norman and Ray, who lives in the orphanage, were living happily with other orphans. Mama (Mom Isabella) who managed the orphanage was kind and tried her best, looking for the new family for each child. Emma, Norman and Ray voluntarily helped Mama a lot as the oldest children so they can someday have the new family.

Then Mama has found the new family for a girl, called Conny.

All the children were so happy that Conny can start the new life with her new family. After she left there with her new family, Emma and Norman noticed that Conny had left her favorite stuffed animal. Since they had just left there, they thought they could make it and started running after them even though they knew that they had to keep an promise which was made with Mama, saying “Don’t get closer to the gate.”

The “thing” they saw there was….

Dead Conny and the “Demons” who eat the humans.

They found out that all the orphans that had left there were eaten by the demons.

They also found out that Mama is the one who had offered the children the Demons.

Figuring out the fact about the secret of the orphanage and what the outside world is like, they started running away from there, when they noticed they had left the stuffed animal by the gate.

Then Emma started crying, thinking that she will be eaten by the demon, ending up being killed.

Norman said to Emma,

At the same time, Mama realized, “Some of the kids must have found out the truth about the orphanage.”

They can live only until they are “offered” to the demons.
