Nagisa Ayumu-sensei's debut comic, “Aijitsu to Hanayome”, is a work packed with captivating elements of BL, Omegaverse, and mythological fantasy.
The story's protagonist is Luka, a young man from a village who suddenly transforms into an Omega. Following tradition, he is chosen to be sacrificed as the bride of a god. His destined groom is Kuro, the sun god, rumored to devour humans. However, contrary to the rumors, Kuro is a cool yet deeply compassionate deity.

At first bewildered, Luka gradually begins to feel warmth in his days with Kuro. Eventually, their relationship transcends the roles of “sacrifice” and “god,” turning into something irreplaceable.

One of the most notable aspects is the intricate storytelling. Not only does it deliver the sweetness and poignancy of a BL story, but its fantasy world is also highly captivating. Themes such as gods and humans, fate and choice, sacrifice and love are skillfully woven together, giving the story a depth beyond mere romance.
The main characters are also exceptionally compelling. The way the cool and mysterious Kuro gradually changes through Luka's pure feelings is a classic yet deeply moving development. Moreover, the presence of the supporting characters is masterfully balanced. Characters like Were and Noah are so well-developed that you'll find yourself wanting to read more about their stories.

Another major highlight of this work is its stunning artwork. The art is delicate yet not overly heavy, making the story easy to follow. The soft, almost analog-like style perfectly complements the work's mystical atmosphere. It leaves you with a sense of fulfillment, as if you've just finished watching a film.
Additionally, the comedic elements are well-placed, and Kuro's line, “Hobby: infrastructure maintenance,” was particularly amusing. Despite being a god, glimpses of humor like this make Kuro even more endearing.

Summary – A Gem of a Story
“Aijitsu to Hanayome” surpasses the boundaries of BL and Omegaverse, standing as a highly accomplished fantasy work. Beyond its romance, the solid foundation of character relationships and world-building captivates readers and doesn’t let go.
It’s almost heartbreaking that the story has concluded—I wished I could continue watching over their journey. The lingering aftertaste is profound. Highly recommended for those who love happy endings!
