What's the story?

The story begins by showing Jotaro Kujo, the protagonist, growing up into a fine young man, until he turns 17 and becomes a delinquent.
He is apprehended by the police for fighting with other delinquents. His mother, Holy, arrives at the police station, thinking that he has committed a murder.
The policemen explain to Holy that Jotaro didn’t commit a murder, and had beat up some other delinquents pretty badly, one of them was even a professional boxer. The problem is that Jotaro isn’t willing to come out of his cell, saying that an evil spirit has possessed his body.
The other inmates confirm Jotaro’s story and beg the policemen to get them out of his cell.
The policemen notice Jotaro drinking beer and reading Shounen manga while listening to a radio, and are confused as to how he got those things in his cell. Jotaro claims that the evil spirit has been bringing him these things.
The policemen still don’t believe his story, so he decides to show them the evil spirit. Suddenly, an arm emerges from his back, which only he and his mother can see, he takes the officers gun and shoots himself in the head, but the bullet is stopped by the ARM, before it hits Jotaro.
Holy recalls that her father, Joseph Joestar also had mysterious powers, but Jotaro’s powers are different.
The scene changes to four years earlier, near the Canary Islands, Atlantic Ocean, where a group of fisherman have found a 100 year old coffin, believing it to be a treasure chest.
What is in that Coffin? And how is it related to Jotaro’s powers?
