The story depicts the activities and daily life of the members of the app game production team “The 5th Floor Alliance,” centered around Akiteru. Akiteru, who serves as Producer and Director, strives for project success alongside his unique comrades: his only friend and genius programmer, Kohinata Ozuma; Iroha, who supports the team as a voice actress; Makigai Namako, the scenario writer; and Kageishi Sumire, a teacher who also works as an illustrator. However, the situation takes a sudden turn with the appearance of the “Salty Girl,” Tsukinomori Mashiro. She is actually Akiteru’s cousin and the daughter of the president of the major corporation Honey Place Works (known as HaniPre). Forced into a “fake boyfriend contract” with Mashiro, Akiteru’s youth sinks further into chaos.

While Iroha's actions initially make you wonder, “Why is she so involved with me!?” it is strange how you gradually grow fond of her as you read on. Her “annoyance” is not merely a nuisance but an awkward expression of affection that slowly melts Akiteru's rigid heart. Furthermore, the charm of the heroines is not limited to Iroha; the contrast with the seemingly cool Mashiro, who gives the “salty response,” is exquisite. The interactions between these polar opposite characters are depicted with great pacing, featuring humorous and heart-pounding developments that make it impossible to stop turning the pages. Above all, Akiteru’s growth in accepting the “inefficiency” of youth is a major highlight of this work. It is a romantic comedy that can also be thoroughly enjoyed as a solid human drama.
